Photo by @kahliaprilphoto | For me, this is one of those places that stops you in your tracks and makes you question if it's real. As we arrived at the lake, we soaked up the sun and admired the beauty. Shortly after, a storm rolled in, blowing freshly calved icebergs from the glacier across the lake toward the shore. Berg Lake, Berg Glacier and Mount Robson, the most prominent mountain in the Rockies.

Photo by @Chrisburkard | People, myself included, often desire to travel to faraway corners of Earth to find beauty. One of my biggest takeaways from all my travels is just how diverse and beautiful the continental United States is. New Mexico’s White Sands National Monument provides a scene unlike I’ve seen anywhere else in my life. The dunes stretch as far as the eye can see in every direction and are a ghostly white color that makes you question if they’re real. You don’t always have to look too far to find unique landscapes.

Photo by @daisygilardini | The main threats to Kamchatka brown bears are trophy hunting, poaching, and loss of habitat. It is estimated that between 500 to 1500 bears are poached every year in Kamchatka. Poachers are after bear parts, because of demand in China and other parts of Asia.
Trophy hunting is legal and it is managed by a quota system, but it is poorly enforced. Also, overfishing for salmon and fragmentation of bears' territory are increasing problems for these mammals. They need wide territories to roam in and reproduce. Follow me @DaisyGilardini for more images and stories behind the scene #bear #grizzlybear #kamchatka #Russia #brownbear

Paddling in glacier lakes can and is extremely dangerous as these pools can drain at anytime, please use extreme caution and go with an experienced guide or company. #alaska #alaskastories #sup

Photo by @hellokrisdavidson | The Atchafalaya River is a distributary of the Mississippi River, with its woods, fertile marshes, and meandering waters providing an essential habitat for countless flora and fauna. It is situated at the heart of Cajun country and steeped in culture and history. Sleeping in the Atchafalaya Basin feels a bit like time travel, or at the very least, like Indiana Jones caliber adventuring; one can’t help but wonder what lurks below the opaque, mirror surface, a Rorschach of sorts inviting introspection. Time seems suspended while sitting on the deck of the houseboat at dusk, beholding a scene that is haunting, mysterious, and completely beautiful. #NPS #cajuncountry

Photo by @bethjwald | One of the country’s oldest and most iconic National Parks, Yosemite draws thousands of climbers every year who test themselves, and their skills, on the massive granite walls. In this photo, a climber cuts loose and swings out over Yosemite Valley during a climb of The Shield, a classic route on the 3000+ foot face of El Capitan. I made my own pilgrimages to Yosemite National Park as a young climber and my experiences there connecting to the natural world helped form who I am and I am forever grateful that activists like John Muir worked hard to preserve this incredible place. National Parks make available to all the natural wonders and heritage of our beautiful country and are an intrinsic part of the America idea.
